Character Description:
Teth stands at a reasonable height of 6 feet, almost exactly. He's not very muscular, but that's not to say he can't manage heavy things, and wouldn't be a complete pushover in a fight. He has slightly tanned skin, but never seems to get bronzed even if Teth's in the sun for hours. Teth's eyes are a rather nice shade of amber, matching his short, medium brown hair, which seems to spike up in unusual ways.
He doesn't bother putting gel in it because it never seems to keep it up or down. He doesn't wear much, just a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt, but if the weather is on the freezing side he puts on a long black shirt with a black jacket. If he ever gets invited somewhere (unlikely, but
possible), he has a tuxedo and a matching pair of pants.
He doesn't wear many charms or jewellery, but on formal occasions he has a small silver ring with amber snaking around it like a river. He's rather fond of it but doesn't want it getting damaged, so it usually just stays in the transport Zoid somewhere.
Personality:
Teth is rather shy and self-critical. Others usually say he should take his own advice, whether it be "Come on, cheer up a bit" or something like that, but he can't really keep it up. He's aware of it, but it doesn't bother him. Anyway, Teth is very nice to have around once he's gotten used to you, but he can be a bit hard to approach at first, seeing as he does a good job of staying under the radar.
Speaking of which, he hates crowds. Absolutely, definitely, hates crowds. You can only spot him in a crowd if he's with a friend or somebody he knows to distract Teth from it. He's generally a happy, nice guy, but can and will get angry or sad if provoked. He has a strange and varied sense of humour, which most of Teth's friends can appreciate.
He will joke in odd situations, mostly to alleviate the tenseness (which he can't stand), but only if it won't worsen it. Teth also won't use guns to harm other people or animals, but doesn't mind knives too much. He is quite creative, drawing or modeling when he gets free time, and is an avid fan of music. He usually has a favourite from every genre, whether it be classic, techno, rock, or whatever.
Behind the cockpit he's just about the same; making quite jokes to himself, seeing the funny side of things, and unlikely to join a large free-for-all. To him, Teams are a big no-no.
History:
There was a kid, in some coastal village on Europa, who grew up with one parent...
Surprisingly, it wasn't due to the war, money, sex, or drugs. He just didn't feel up to being a parent. Anyway, the kid in question was named Tethys Volans. He didn't really like it, but figured since he couldn't change it, put up with it. He lived with his mother, and had support from his aunt, so he never really had a father role in life.
Tethys lived in a rather nice house, with rather nice things inside. They lived in a rather nice neighbourhoood, with rather nice places. In fact, rather nice described his life pretty solidly. Anyway, he was an only child, with her mother owning and running an antique shop. He often went over there after school to see all the cool things in there.
What fascinated him most was - you guessed it - the Zoid stuff. Paintings of epic battles, Zoid models, you name it, he loved it. His favourite was a painting of a Gildragon fighting a Gilvader. But, he couldn't see it much inbetween, school, homework and friends. He was in one or two clubs at school, and had a small circle of friends. He excelled at wood and metalwork, english and science, but rather lacked in music and math.
He knew what he wanted to be though: an antiques seller that travelled all over the planet on his zoids. When he finished school, he got a Gustav to start off, and set off his journey. This lasted several months, meeting some friends, old and new and seeing other Zoids. But eventually, he realised that it couldn't go on.
The cost of upkeeping the Gustav, and himself wasn't brought in by his shop, so there was only one place to go: back home. So, when he was ready, he turned the Gustav around, and eventually got to his home. His mother had gotten sick in the last few months, and wasn't expected to be around for much longer, so Teth considered himself lucky for seeing her again, before she was gone.
After staying a while, she passed away. Teth was pretty devastated, but got over it with the help of his friends and aunt. So, he stayed there continuously for three years, keeping the shop running, until he was 24. He'd noticed the town seemed quiet for a few days, and while on his lunchbreak, he noticed that there was nobody around.
Windows closed, shops closed, no ships in the port. So he started looking around...
After about an hour of searching, he came upon a large warehouse by the sea, which he never noticed before. So, Teth knocked on the door. No answer. Knocked again, louder. Nothing. Finally, his curiosity got ahold of him, and he slowly opened the door, turned the lights on and...
Got the absolute daylights scared outta him. The first thing he saw
was the whole town in the one warehouse, shouting something he couldn't quite understand. Then were the two huge, hulking masses, which he finally figured out were, infact, Zoids.
A Spino Snapper and Godkaiser, his two absolute favourites. And finally, he understood. There, above him was a huge sign saying "Happy Birthday!". He'd completely forgotten.
The town had been saving up for the last couple of years with their spare cash to buy him these two Zoids. Teth thanked everybody, his friends, his aunt, his neighbours and got in the cockpit. He hadn't a clue how they worked, but they thought of that too. He'd been enlisted in the Zoid Academy a few villages over. He spent the year there, learning how to repair, pilot, how the battle system worked, everything he needed. So, after that he said goodbye to the town, headed to the capital and became a registered pilot. He knew he would win a bit, lose a lot, much like life, but that didn't matter. He had the two things he loved most; His friends and his Zoids.
